Message from the President

Beyond “made to print.”

Shiomi Precision was founded in 1968 as a subcontractor for watch components, in a workshop near Shiomi Harbor. Our founder had a saying: “Matching the drawing is the minimum. Make parts that never give the user a problem.”

Today, our components go into medical devices and semiconductor equipment built by customers around the world. The tolerances have tightened to the micron, but we still machine every part with the end user in mind.

We will keep sharpening our craft as a company rooted in our hometown — and keep supporting manufacturers worldwide, one precise part at a time.

Our History

  1. 1968

    Founded near Shiomi Harbor as a machining shop for watch components

  2. 1985

    Introduced CNC Swiss-type lathes and began volume production of precision shafts

  3. 1998

    Achieved ISO 9001 certification

  4. 2004

    Achieved ISO 14001 certification; began sourcing part of our plant power from on-site solar

  5. 2011

    Achieved ISO 13485 certification and expanded into medical device components

  6. 2016

    Began supplying a German medical device manufacturer and launched our international sales team

  7. 2022

    Opened Plant 2 in Kitahama

  8. 2026

    Added a temperature-controlled metrology lab at Plant 2
